You ain’t afraid of no ghost, right, Allison?
UPDATE 10/5: Hey folks! I was feeling a little under the weather this past weekend (that time of year) so I’ve been trying to take it easy, as a result, this week’s update may be delayed several days again. Sorry for the wait!
Eeeaugh please tell me this isn’t a oversharpened Chekhov’s Pencil. If her brain starts up the hallucinations again and her nap’s interrupted, someone’s getting stabbed :C
She’s making such a bad first impression right now… :0
Well, she did drop the class. Surely she won’t see any of these people again, like that professor who appears in the cast page.
Lol right? Oh Alison.
I really love this comic… been reading it for months now. I’m always excited for a new update!!
Can’t wait to see more. Keep up the great work. (°∀°)b
This is such an interesting, absorbing story, Suzanne! I’m so glad I stumbled on to your work and I look forward to seeing more of it in the future. Thank you for putting it out there!
SUPER cannot wait to have a physical copy of Brainchild to read over and over *squee*
Congratulations! It’s so nice seeing your artwork printed. Also, this cover looks amazing! It reminds me of the Harry Potter books covers, with this eerie atmosphere and cool angles.
Keep up the good work!
Any new updates coming? I’m hooked but feel lost in limbo!
Is it me or we bare bears has the exact same art style?
I love the story and artstyle so much! I’m hooked on it
Love this webcomic! The art, dialogue, and the story shot it up into my favourites when I heard of it years ago. I really hope that it’s not sunk before it really got going into the story.
Thanks for sharing your work with us and I really hope to read more in the future!
Oh, no! The arcane pencil has caused our fair protagonist to fall into a coma! Or maybe just the author.
Hoping you’re OK – I miss Brainchild…
so, is this comic dead
nope! just on break, and coming back very soon.
when is “very soon”
Soon is soon. I work a full-time job, have had four conventions to prepare for on the side since spring began, moved last weekend, and put this comic online for free as a labor of love in my spare time. Your patience is greatly appreciated. :)
Miss your storytelling and art Suzanne. Please consider throwing a few words out here to your fans to let us know what you’re up to.
Also, are there any copies of the book left?

She actually made a series of tweets on the subject back in December, and I’m sure that all of these links will get me caught in the spam filter, but here goes.

I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that I hope you’re in a good place, Suzanne.
Thanks Jeff! I’m okay and will have an update up this weekend (plus more information on the books.)
I heard Brainchild is coming back soon. Commence super excited freakout… !!!!!
I can’t believe nobody’s commented on the INCREDIBLE REALISM displayed by that shitty halloween pencil having that weird layer of plastic at the top from being sharpened. I remember that so clearly from elementary school.
This is such a specific tactile memory associated with every pencil i have ever hated, I couldn’t NOT draw it.
the plasticy torn bits where the pencil was sharpened are perfect.
