Do we know why Nosi thinks that she is ‘connected’ to Allison? She says she’s been around her constantly – for years. Is she compelled to stay close to her for some reason? If not, why does she stick around? What makes her think that Allison is the key to her strange limbo-like existence?
Nosilla has previously expressed the desire to sleep. Can she sleep? Can she eat, drink, or breathe? Does she need to?
Nosilla’s clothes don’t look like they fit her particularly well. Where did she get them? Did she need to replace her old ones as she and Allison grew up? Did Nosilla grow up at all? Do her nails and hair grow? Does she get itchy or feel pain? Does she have physical sensations at all, or is this more of an astral projection (or ghostly) situation?
P.S. It’s good to have other people aboard the science train.
P.S.S. I hadn’t really comprehended before now just how long Nosilla’s arms were. In my mind, they were just past her knees or so. But wow, they are long. If they weren’t so thin, she could be quadrupedal.
I get the feeling Nosilla is Allison’s “mutant world” doppelganger, but somehow they were separated… That’s my hunch since everybody else seems to have a mutant alter ego except for Allison.
I’d just developed the same hunch myself, somehow. Could be possible. That would still leave the question of HOW and why they could have been separated. Hmmmm….
It could be that Allison just can’t see her own mutant self. Allison, look in a mirror! Can you see other mutant versions of people but still not your own?
(But yeah, I’ve been assuming the same thing since we met Nosilla in chapter 1. Perhaps those doctors on the chapter 2 cover have something to do with it?)
I’m interested to find out more about that article with the 2 doctors. It mentions something about 6 children, so I’m curious as to whether Allison, or maybe Patrick have something to do with that.
Even though I did read from the website’s synopsis that this story has a paranormal element, everything that has happened COULD have a scientific explanation that is PERCEIVED as paranormal.
Obvious detail already noted: Nosilla is Allison backwards. (Or All Is On. Feel it.)
Nosilla looks like she may be a monster version of Allison.
No one else has said they can see Nosilla.
When Nosilla was first witnessed, she was muttering to herself. If you look closely at the words, you can see she’s angry about the party, as user The Wealthy Aardvark posted what she was saying (from https://brainchild.suzannegeary.com/comic/chapter-1-page-34/ )
“serves you right, waiting until shit goes full hunter
s thompson to leave this asinine excuse to get wasted
[all] i ever ask for is a goddamn moment’s peace, all i fucking
is sleep and instead i’m subjected to a sticky throng
horny trust fund babies tripping overthemselves dr
and did i fucking mention LOUD -”
Nosilla is quite possibly talking about Allison as she waited until things got “full hunter s Thompson” before she left the party. Hunter S. Thompson wrote “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” which means this could be a reference to the scene where the character Duke hallucinates that all the bar patrons in one location look like lizards having an orgy (from the movie version description: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear_and_Loathing_in_Las_Vegas_%28film%29 ).
Nosilla is also talking about wanting a “moment’s peace” and “sleep” which could be Allison’s desires at this point expressed through Nosilla, not to mention the scathing criticism of the party-goers, as Nosilla calls them “horny trust fund babies tripping overthemselves.”
What else we know: Allison is switching between views of people as monsters and as human. These people do not bring up anything about seeing what she sees. Allison has yet to test the physical properties of these individuals (like Carrie’s long creature neck, which places her monster head’s location far above that of her human head’s location on her body. So if Allison tries to touch the monster head form far above where the human head form would be, would she feel anything or would her hand go through an empty space as though it were a clear hallucination?)
Nosilla knows a TON of intimate details about Allison’s life, suggesting she has had an opportunity to witness such things or at least has access to the information about Allison’s life. However, Nosilla doesn’t know much ANYTHING about herself, which is very odd for a creature who has had enough time to witness/examine years of a person’s life, but spends no time focusing on their own identity, but from today’s comic, we can see that Nosilla is trying to figure this out but can’t seem to.
We also know Nosilla says she has been trying to get Allison’s attention for a long while now. And when she cannot do so, Allison witnesses strange events like things moving without a clear explanation, although the “gust of wind” and “storm” theories are provided, meaning perhaps something might be wrong with Allison’s deductions as well. Is Nosilla causing these strange, seemingly poltergeist-like events or is Allison viewing these events and then offering that explanation without attempt to view other possibilities? That’s one of the things I really like about this story. I enjoy the ambiguity, because a quick explanation would give things away too much.
I think I know what Nosilla is…but I don’t want to say it just yet. Thing is, this story updates only a few times a month, so it’s gonna a longggggggggg time before I see an opportunity to discuss what I think is happening. At least I’ll have time to refine the theory by then.
I also just have to say…Nosilla is one of the cutest characters I’ve ever seen. :) This has quickly become one of my favorite web comics of all time and I am excited to see where it goes. Excellent work, Suzanne!
I know this is a long post, but I’m very excited about this story. :)
NOSILLAS LITTLE SNOOT IN THE SECOND TO LAST PANEL Im dyin those two expressions are soooooo good and cute and perfect
i like to think Nosilla’s voice is raspy
*gives nosilla a peanut*
Aww Nosilla!
Hey everyone, we need to suspend the scientific inquiry process for a second; the emotion generator just kicked into high gear again.
So many feels :*|
Get a feeling so complicated ::(
The child has finally gotten her mom’s attention and doesn’t know what to do with it.

Ooh, good questions. Here’s one of mine: What’s Nosilla’s earliest memory? Allison’s birth, or what?
Feels time is over. All aboard the science train!
Nosilla has previously expressed the desire to sleep. Can she sleep? Can she eat, drink, or breathe? Does she need to?

Is it too early to start shipping Nosilla with Derek’s Stand, Cat Scratch Fever?
Lol Sounds interesting. I wonder if the others will ever be able to interact with Nosilla.
I’d just developed the same hunch myself, somehow. Could be possible. That would still leave the question of HOW and why they could have been separated. Hmmmm….

I’ll bet ten space-dollars that Derek was one of them.

I’m gonna hang onto my space-dollars, because Derek’s totally one of them.
damn you Suzanne Geary! I devoured the awesome first chapter today and now I have to wait for each new page! DAMN YOUUUU!
Woah what a cutie….
Maybe Nosilla is a normal looking girl but since Allison is seeing everyone as monsters she’s seeing Nosilla that way as well…?
noisilla’s fullbody is such a goooooooooood design i really love her
