Oh god this hurts to read. I still don’t know what I’m supposed to do in a situation like this, if there’s even any specific thing to do. Can’t stop someone else from taking out their issues on you after all.
Honestly, Nosilla kinda sucks…she can be really painful to watch as a reader.
I have a lot of sympathy for the fact that she’s been suffering through a deeply frustrating, agonizing existence, one most of us can’t relate to. But Jesus, girl, this is literally the only person on the planet who might be able to improve your situation, which she is trying to do. Why are you seemingly relishing in being uncooperative and nasty as possible to her? :(
let her help you… even if this seems silly at times! Doing what you’ve been doing already clearly isn’t working. What do you have to lose?
Allison’s face on the last panel is extremely good and appropriate. ‘Zilla, come on, *you* want to get this all done and over with, *you* at least stop antagonizing the only entity in existence who is able and willing to help.
Alison: “I think you might just be be a manifestation / metaphor for my self-doubt and I need to fight you at the core of a mountain until we sort our shit out and then we go fly to the summit together”
Man if she came into my house telling me what to do and I followed her whims only for her to start acting like this you’d best believe I’d be channeling all my effort into un-seeing her instead.
Nosilla channels Allison’s negative feelings about herself. That’s … actually a pretty familiar pattern for hallucinations.
Your hallucinations rarely wish you a nice day and tell you you’re looking nice and reassure you that you’re doing okay. They don’t come around on your birthday to keep you company and sing and be happy for you.
Instead they’re all about the stuff you’re stressed about, or afraid of, or about the crap you’re desperately trying to prevent others from finding out about you – and they always dial it up to eleven, making it absolutely the worst it can be. Fuckin’ Drama queens, one and all.
The best that can be said about it is modern medications can be effective at shutting them up without making you nauseous all the time or giving you absolure brain fog. That, anyway, has gotten a lot better.
Aw, come on, are you telling me you have hallucinations that don’t do this shit? This is just how they are.
I sort of gave up on “real” or not a while ago. They’re not physical, and they’re not usually there for more than just you. If you wanna call that “not real” you can. But you can’t just decide for them to not exist, and you can’t decide what they look like, and you can’t decide what they’re going to cuss at you about. So if they’re yours, they’re a real part of your world.
We are talking about a “hallucination” who can actually affect the world around her to the degree she was assumed to be some kind of poltergeist for years, in the comic we are reading…
